Human Design Basics
Inner Authority
Inner Authority refers to the physical decision-making process derived from the chart. It does not replace responsibility and is neither medical nor legal advice.
What does inner authority mean?
In Human Design, inner authority does not answer the question of what appears reasonable, socially desirable or theoretically optimal. It describes the individual process through which a decision can become physically sustainable. This process is derived from the BodyGraph definition and cannot be selected based on personal preference.
Strategy and authority go together: Strategy brings a person into contact with a concrete situation in the correct way; The authority then checks whether and when this option is appropriate for him. The mind is allowed to collect information, consider consequences and express experiences, but should not force the personal decision out of fear, pressure or justification.
The authorities form a hierarchy. A definition of the solar plexus leads to emotional authority and takes time. Without an emotional definition - depending on the type and chart - the sacral, spleen, ego or G center can be decisive. Certain projectors gain clarity about voice and proper environment; Reflectors need the lunar cycle to make big decisions. Authority is not a guarantee of a certain result, but rather a way to make decisions as your own experiment, less out of conditioning.
Emotional authority
Clarity arises over time and not in emotional highs or lows. There is no truth in the now; important decisions are allowed to go through an emotional wave.
Sacral Authority
The immediate physical reaction of the Sacral often manifests itself as a noticeable yes or no, energy or lack of energy to a concrete possibility.
Spleen Authority
The spleen conveys a quiet, spontaneous perception of security and coherence in the present moment. Your signal is not necessarily repeated.
Ego Authority
The focus here is on will, resources and an authentic “I want” or a coherent promise.
Self-projected authority
Direction and identity become audible when one's own voice speaks in a receiving environment. The other person serves as a resonance space, not as an advisor.
Mental or environmental authority
For certain projectors, clarity comes from the right environment and expressing different perspectives with familiar people.
Lunar Authority
Reflectors use approximately one lunar cycle to fully cycle through the changing activations and perspectives for major decisions.
